   Congratulations Parents!
Fresh & Fresh donated $251 for your fundraising efforts.  Thank you to Mrs. Denise Ramirez for organizing the registration and mailing the receipts.

Mrs. Oliver
Thank you for such a memorable evening. I enjoyed seeing all of you and so appreciate all the time and talent involved. Everything was just so beautiful, from flowers, all the cards, the delicious food and the generous gift cards and check from all.

Thank you for all the years of love and friendship. I leave with a very happy heart filled with joy and wonderful memories.

Walk-a-Thon
We want to thank Mr. & Mrs. Ponce and all committee members for the successful walk-a-thon. The water stations, walking path, play area, tree shade for eating, and food were perfect for the event.

The sponsorships paid for the t-shirts, posters, and banner. Parents donated all the food. Thank you again for your service and support to our school.

Choicelunch
Lunch pricing for next school year will increase by 20 cents.
The price of pre-ordered Hot Standard Portion lunch shall be $4.80.
The price of pre-ordered Hot Increased Portion lunch shall be $5.50 (with the exception of pizza at $5.80).
The Cold Entrée will be priced between
$3.95-$5.55.
The Emergency Lunch surcharge for an Emergency Lunch shall be $1.45.
The Emergency Lunch surcharge for non-perishable cereal shall be $0.45.
The price of pre-ordered Milk Tickets shall be $0.60.

I need to hear from parents regarding the price increase by this Friday, May 27.  I will sign the Choice Food Service Agreement for 2011-2012 school year next Tuesday, May 31.

Registration
Please pay the balance of your registration fee by this Friday, May 27. If you have a concern regarding your registration fee please call the school office at 323-255-5803.

Parent Contracts for 2011-2012
Service hours for this school year ended with the walk-a-thon event. Please submit your receipts to clear your service hours.

Your parent contracts will be issued the first week of June. All tuition, mandatory fundraisers, meetings, and service hours need to be complete for this school year by this Friday, May 27.


Book Fair
Our Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair will be at St. Dominic School from Tuesday, May 31 to Thursday, June 2. The store will be opened from 8:30-3:30.

This book fair is not a fundraiser but an opportunity for students to stock up with great books for summer reading.

Walk-a-thon committee will meet Wednesday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the book faire room.                                                   
Walk-a-thon Attendance
Some parents signed up to attend our walk-a-thon this Saturday during the PTO meeting or Talent show. We have not heard from all parents.
Please let the school office know by Wednesday, May 18 if you are attending or not attending the walk-a-thon event. Mr. Ponce needs an accurate count of family attendance to prepare for food.

In the event of any Significant Unanticipated Increase in Choice’s Operating Cost(s), Choice reserves the right to adjust the lunch prices.
Including but not limited to costs of fuel, food, power, utilities, labor, materials, healthcare, transportation, government compliance and overhead.

Congratulations!
Our following students received their First Communion this week-end:

Talent Show
Join us for our talent show this Friday, May 13 at 5:00 p.m. in the school yard.

Mrs. Oliver’s Retirement Celebration
We will celebrate Mrs. Oliver’s retirement this Friday, May 13. Our parent committee invites alumni and parish members to join us this Friday for our celebration with Mrs. Oliver.

Walk-a-thon Event
Walk-a-thon obligation of $75.00 is due.                                                   

Students will receive the same size t-shirt that they received for the 85th anniversary. If you want to change the size for your student please call the school office no later than Wednesday morning.

PTO Meeting
Our last mandatory meeting for this school year will be held tomorrow Wednesday, May 11. Our meeting will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall.

Jeans Day for Mrs. Oliver  
Students will have a $1 jeans day and $1 per accessory. The money collected from the students will be given to Mrs. Oliver on Wednesday, May 25. We will have an assembly to present her with student appreciation gifts.

School Choir
Thank you, choir, for singing on Easter Sunday. No rehearsals this Tuesday, May 10 and Thursday, May 12.
The week of May 19 ONLY meet to go to Knott’s Berry Farm on Thursday May 19.

Our prayer service, May Crowning, date has been changed from Wednesday, May 25 to Tuesday, May 24.

Graduation Photos
Graduation group photo day has been changed from Tuesday, May 24 to Wednesday, May 18.



Registration
The balance of $250 registration fee for next year registration is due.

Parent contracts for the 2011-2012 school year will go home once all obligations for this school year are cleared.

Preschool at St. Dominic
We need 10 children to begin our preschool this fall. If your child is 3 years or 4 years old and if your family is interested in enrolling a child for preschool in the fall of 2011 please call the school ASAP.

Preschool for your child can be 2 days, 3 days or all week. Cost for preschool would be separate from the tuition family rate.

If 10 or more families are interested, preschool would start when regular school starts in August

First Communion
Our second grade students, one third grader and one sixth grader will receive their First Communion this Saturday, May 7 at the 10:00 a. m. Mass.

Walk- a thon Meeting
The walk-a-thon committee will meet this Wednesday, May 4 at 7:15 p.m.
The meeting will be held in the book fair room.

Walk-a-thon Event
Our last mandatory fundraiser for this school year is on Saturday, May 21.

Walk-a-thon obligation of $75.00 is now                                                        
due.

St. Dominic students will receive their walk-a-thon t-shirt and lunch.

Up-dates
Parent updates were given to students on Thursday, April 21. Updates included delinquent tuition, service hours, mandatory PTO meetings, mandatory fundraisers; raffle, casino night, walk-a-thon and graduation fees.

Please contact the school office if you have questions on your up-dated account.

Eighth grade parents need to clear their account by Friday, May 20.

New Student Orientation
Parents of an in-coming kinder student or
new student are invited to an orientation meeting this Thursday, May 5 at 6:00 p.m.
