Choicelunch 
Parents with children in seventh grade it’s your turn to volunteer for lunch. If you are interested in volunteering for lunch credit please call the school ASAP.

Parents need to be fingerprinted and attend the Virtus session before volunteering to serve hot lunch for the children.    

Mandatory Virtus Session
We have a mandatory 3 hour parent meeting for Virtus training on Wed. Oct. 12. The session will start promptly at 6 and end at 9:00 p.m.

Parents that have attended the 3 hour session for Virtus training are not required to attend.
We need your certificate of training in our school office ASAP.

Painting the St. Dominic Lettering
We appreciate the beautiful work Mr. Fernando Martinez and Mr. Dionisio Mendoza accomplished painting the St. Dominic letters in front of our school.

Emergency and Medication Forms
We are missing many emergency and medication forms in the school office.
Please return these important forms ASAP.

Event Sign-ups
We want to thank parents for signing up to volunteer or chair the following events:
Hospitality, Halloween Carnival, Santa’s Workshop, Book Fair, Casino/Dinner Night, Daughter/Family Day, Son/Family Day, and Walk-a-thon.

We have our room parents for kinder, first, third, fourth, sixth, and eighth grades. We are in need of second, fifth and seventh grade room parents. If you were a room parent last year we ask that you wait to sign up until parents that have been waiting for an opportunity to serve as room parents sign-up.

Daycare
Daycare hours from Monday to Friday are 6:30 to 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Our Daycare phone number is 323-255-9360.

Our office door will be unlocked from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for students and parents that drop off and pick up students in day care.

Parents will sign in and sign out their child/ren on a daily basis for safety precautions.

Our school office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Back to School Night
Our Back to School Night for kinder to
fourth grade is this Wednesday, Aug. 24.
The meeting will start promptly
at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Back to School Night for fifth to eighth grade is this Thursday, Aug. 25. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the school lunch area.

Library
We appreciate all the work that Mrs. Cecilia Gamboa and Mrs. Tulika Aich accomplished in our library. The library is now bright and clean.  They checked in library books, placed books on correct shelves, cleaned the shelves, and cleaned our computers.
A special thanks to Mrs. Cabagnot for assisting with the clean-up in the library. GREAT JOB! GREAT JOB!

Painting the front of the School
We appreciate the beautiful work Mr. Fernando Martinez accomplished on the front of our school. He cleaned our windows, removed the old window screens, sealed windows and painted. A special thanks to Mr. Ponce and Mr. Perez for assisting with the final paint job.

Parent Handbooks
Annually we have questions on uniforms and dress code, homework, extra curricular participation and party invitations. Please read your parent handbook carefully and review the handbook with your child. Please return the signed acceptance of the handbook form to the school office.

Math Tutor
Need a Math Tutor? Tutoring is available on Saturdays in Eagle Rock Public Library between the hours of 10:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please call Joseph Carreon, alumni, at 323-259-9454 if you are interested and want to make an appointment to receive math tutoring.

Welcome Back to School
It was wonderful to have so many parents during our morning prayer. We want to thank you for joining us during coffee and catching up with all the summer activities.

Medical Forms  
We have new medication authorization and permission forms. We need physician’s authorization for your student to take medication during school hours. Please ask for the medication form in the school office.

Emergency-Earthquake-Disaster Information Form
Students are to return this form ASAP. We use this form on a daily basis to serve your child and contact parents. Please complete the front and back of the card. The card needs to be signed.

Mass
Please join us for our first student body Mass this Friday, August 19 at 9:00 a.m. Student Council will host Mass.

Our choice lunch program begins Monday, August 22.

Please visit choicelunch.com  to create an account and register to order lunch for your student. The registration code is DOMINIC.


Our eighth grade parents have the opportunity to volunteer and earn lunch credit for their child. Call the school office ASAP if you are interested. We only need one parent volunteer for lunch so the first parent to call will have the opportunity to work. You will start at 11:30 and end at 12:30.

You must be fingerprinted and attend the Virtus session before you volunteer for the lunch program.  

School Uniform
Physical Education days are Tuesday and Thursday.
Please have your child wear the white t-shirt from Dennis Uniform, gray t-shirt purchased from PTO or white t-shirt received during our walk-a-thon event with their shorts or sweat pants. Students may wear their Dennis shorts or sweat pants only. Students are not to wear their basketball shorts or academic decathlon t-shirt on P.E. days.  

Students may only wear their green crew neck sweatshirt purchased from Dennis Uniform or the gray sweatshirt purchased from PTO with their school uniform. 

Uniform Exchange
Mrs. Stephanie Galarion is our uniform chairperson this school year.

Uniform exchange and sales are only available on the dates that she is available.
