Step Up To Writing
Friday, March 30 is an in-service day for all teachers for the Step Up to Writing program.
You will see a number of substitute teachers in school this Friday.

Tuition
Only 16 families have completed the survey. We need an additional 120 families to please go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5XGZD29 and give your input on whether you want to pay the increase to keep the music and P.E. programs for next year.

I am proposing that it would take about $38,049 to support our part-time music and P.E. program. An additional $13,400 is the proposed cost to support the Spanish program.

I presented the following for 3 programs at our PTO meeting :
Tuition for one child would be $4514.00 + $200 would equal $4714.  Divided by 11monthly payments would be $428.54 monthly, an increase of $37.25 from last year’s monthly payment of $391.29. Divided by 8 days per month (music and P.E. are taught twice per week) the increase is $4.66 a day.

Tuition for two children would be $6578.00 + 200 which equal $6778.  Divided by 11months, the monthly payment would be to equal $616.18, increase of $64.09 from this year’s $552.09. Divided by 8 days per month, the increase of two children would be $4.00 a day for each child.

Tuition for 3 children would be $9028 + 200 which equal $9228. Divided by 11 months, the monthly payment would be $ 838.91, an increase of $204.55 from last year was $684.36. Divided by 8 days per month, the increase for three children would be $8.50 per day, or $2.83 per child.

Food for Family Thought
God has planted a seed of faith in each child. You have a major influential role in how well that seed of faith is nurtured. Pray that you can respond to the opportunities to nurture tender faith each day.

If you could be the tallest tree for many miles around, where in the world would you want to be planted so you could have an awesome view of everything below you?

 Tuition Increase
Last year there was no tuition increase. This year there will be an increase in tuition to cover cost of living, increase in benefits, and increase in operational expenses.

At the PTO meeting a tuition increase break down was introduced to parents.  The break down included the music and physical education programs and an introduction of a foreign language program. I introduced what it would cost to keep the music and P.E program and the Spanish, if accepted by the parents.

This year the Spanish program has been a topic of discussion in our faculty meetings and PTO board meetings. The discussion has been about cost, time allotment, and whether is can be introduced during the day or after school.

I gave a detailed account of what it would cost for one child, two children, and three or more children to support 3 programs, teacher salaries, benefits, and operational expense increase.
Please go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5XGZD29 and complete the survey.  The survey will close on Monday, March 26. Your input is important.

Food for Family Thought
When you’re stressed, your imagination can help. Call to mind sounds that calm you—a babbling brook, birds chirping, a favorite song—and let them lead you
to an inner place where you can hear the still, small voice of God.

Suppose that twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, you had to hear a background noise in your head. This background noise would always be there
throughout your life. What background noise would you choose as your very own?

Schoolwide Learning Expectations

A major gift we give our children is appreciation of their individuality. Pray that you can nurture the gifts your child embodies for the good of the world.

If you had to describe your personality in terms of a form of transportation, which one would you choose?
(Examples: airplane, bicycle, cab, camel, hot-air balloon, sailboat, skateboard, train, truck.)

Alumni Association News!
We would like to thank our alumni who donated snacks to our preschool: Luciano Santoro, Jennifer Rickert, Lisa Van Dyke, Andrew Oliver, Danielle Oliver and Francine Oliver. Through their generosity our new preschool has delicious and healthy snacks.

Food for Family Thought
Tell your child about your favorite apostle, holy person, or hero from the Bible. Let your child know what traits you admire in that person.

If you could carve four new faces into the side of Mt. Rushmore, whose faces would they be? Why do you believe your choices deserve such a place of honor?
