Goodwill
Cleaning out the garage this
summer? Bring us your stuff on Sunday!
The school Marketing Team
will be sending home a Goodwill flyer and starter bag to fill with
“gently-used” clothes, shoes, toys, and non-electronic housewares.
We will be pre-collecting
every Sunday 9a.m. to 11a.m. at the former daycare/Community Center
this summer before August 28th. GOODWILL TRAILER arrives September
15th.
Filling the truck will earn
the team $1500 to use toward marketing materials to promote the school. Please
help us meet our goal by donating as many bags full of stuff as possible.
Electronics (plug-in/battery
operated) and furniture not accepted until September. Have a great summer!
Girl Scouts
St. Dominic’s Girl Scouts Cadettes are working on their
silver award. The silver award is a community service project. The cadets are
working with the Glendale Humane Society and North Central Animal Shelter to
create Welcome home baskets for adopted cats and dogs. We are in need of the
following items to create these baskets: collars/leashes, towels, newspaper,
hand disinfectant paper towels, metal bowls, trash bags, toys.
We will be collecting during
the month of June. The donation collection box will be in the school office. If
you have any questions please call Claudia Pichardo at 323-791-4407. Thank you
for you support.
Food for Family Thought
Just for dads: Kids long for
their father’s blessing. Yet too often dads remain silent about what they feel
inside. Sometime this week, set aside an hour to write a letter to each of your
children describing in detail something unique that you appreciate about him or
her. Write from the heart and give this gift that will last a lifetime.
If you could personally hear
or see the loudest, the strongest, or the fastest of anything in the world,
what would you choose to hear or see?
