and Education

March 19, 2013

Registration
Registration for the 2013-2014 school year is now open. New incoming preschool parents should call the preschool at (323) 255-2979.

Ms. Angela will be available to give school tours by appointment.

Yearbook
The yearbook pre-sale is almost over and we will not be able to order extras so please order ASAP if you have not already done so.

Yearbook Photos
The yearbook committee is looking for great action shots from all school sport teams/games, photos from the Academic Decathlon competition and lunch, and school events such as the Christmas program, pep rallies, etc.

Please email all photos to: craughwell@stdominicla.us; heintz@stdominicla.us, and/or wiese@stdominicla.us. If you prefer to put your photos on a CD, you can leave it with Ms. Angela in the office. If you have photos that you
think your child’s teacher could use for the class “fun page,” you may email the photos to that
teacher directly.

Report Cards
The second trimester report cards will go out tomorrow. Please contact the classroom teacher if you need a conference.

School Choir
There will be NO rehearsal on Thu., March 21.

Easter Sunday participation sheets were due today, March 19. Eligibility for choir “field trips” depends on excellent participation.
There is no morning or afternoon rehearsal the last week of March. (We will rehearse for Easter Mass during the school day on Wed. March 27.) Thank you for getting your son/daughter early to school or picked up at 4:00 p.m. for weekly rehearsals!

Casino Night News
Our exciting and fabulous Casino Night is less than three weeks away!  Here are some important things to know:

·         Last call to RSVP and pay $75 to the school office is March 20.  Anyone who pays after that date will not be admitted into the event until after 8 p.m. when dinner is over. The office will be closed for Easter break and we need to submit our final food count this week.  This is a mandatory fundraiser so you still must pay $75 whether you attend or not.
·         Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and close at midnight.
·         Food served from 6:30-8:00 p.m. only.
·         Cash, checks, and Visa or Mastercard accepted during the Casino Night
·         Must be at least 21 years old to attend
·         No daycare will be available
·         We need volunteers to help clean up after the event and return casino props and items back to the school for service hours.
·         Your entrance, meal, drink tickets and gam ing money will be given to you at the event check-in table.
·         The 50/50/50 raffle from 6:30-8pm only

Thank you to all the families that have donated items, drinks, and your time and support.  Together as a community our event will be successful and lots of fun. Dress up, dress casual, just come and join the fun. Don’t forget there will be free raffles throughout the night, a fun photo booth, gaming, dancing, food, drinks, desserts, gaming prizes and classroom and other silent auction items.
