Academic Decathlon
Some good news to report! Our St. Dominic team competed on Saturday, March 10, at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. We brought some medals home.
Congratulations to the following students:
Cristina Gonzales placed 6th in literature, Dancia Tagupa placed 10th in social studies and the entire team received medals for placing 9th in the Super Quiz
Thank you to Mr. John Snyder, a former teacher here at St. Dominic’s who volunteered to be Head Coach this year. Also thank you to Sister Jane, Mrs. Hunt, Mrs. Nabavi, and Mrs. Marte who volunteered to be subject coaches.
New Student and Kinder Testing
Our second day of testing for kinder and 1st-8th grade is this Saturday, March 17 starting at 12 noon.
Please call for an appointment for the kinder testing. Kinder testing takes about 15 minutes per child, 1st-2nd grade takes up to 20 minutes per child, and 3rd-8th grade takes up to an hour.
New Student Registration
Kinder and new students who tested on Saturday, February 18 have received their acceptance letters.
Registration for new students is on Saturday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. Please call the school office if you are unable to register at 1:00 p.m.
Scrip
Our PTO members will be selling scrip on Sunday, March 18 after the 7:30, 9:00, 10:30 and 12:15 Mass.

See’s candies order forms should be turned in to the front office by
Wednesday, March 21st.
Mandatory Parent Meeting
Wednesday, March 14 is our fourth mandatory parent meeting. The meeting starts promptly at 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall.
Preschool Mandatory Meeting
Our second mandatory preschool meeting will be on Thursday, March 15. The meeting starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the preschool area.Jeans Day
Students are allowed to wear jeans and a green shirt or t-shirt on Friday, March 16. Students
will pay $1.00 for the privilege of wearing non uniform wear.
Please be careful that the writing on the t-shirt does not have offensive language.
Sweet Sixteen
This has been an exciting basketball season for our “A” boys team. Our boys are conference
champions and made it to the Sweet Sixteen Playoffs. Congratulations to Jason Batungbacal, eight grade student.
Discovering Our Faith
Join us for the March 20th lecture on Continuous Prayer: The Jesus Prayer and the Rosary.
Our meeting will be held in the Religious Education classroom, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Islands Fundraiser
We thank all the parents for their participation in the Islands Fundraiser. It was nice to see so many families out last Wednesday.
Students with free dress tickets will use their ticket tomorrow, Wednesday, March 14.
The total profit for the night was $480.87. We thank Eva Matas for organizing the event.
