Room Parents
We want to thanks the parents who have volunteered to be room parents for this school year.
We are in need of room parents in 1st, 4th, and 8th grades. The teachers and students would appreciate a room parent.
Volleyball Coaches
We are calling out to our 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade parents for volunteers to coach the girls “A” and “B” volleyball teams. If you volunteer as a coach you will need to attend a mandatory CYO coaches meeting.
Choice Lunch
It’s time for 7th grade parents to volunteer for Choice Lunch. You can earn lunch credit for your child if you volunteer.
Parents need to have been fingerprinted and have attended a Virtus class.
Please call the school ASAP if you are interested in volunteering.
Cookie Dough
The cookie dough fundraiser begins on Wednesday, Sept. 5 and ends Tuesday, Sept. 25.
This is our first PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) fundraiser. It is not a mandatory fundraiser but all students benefit when programs are purchased from funds raised from the cookie dough sale.
Thank you to all the parents who work hard to make the annual cookie dough sale a success!
Scrip
PTO will sell scrip on Sunday, Sept. 9. Scrip will be sold in front of the church before and after the 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Masses.
The seven parents who signed up at Back to School Night to sell scrip on Sept. 9 will be contacted by Mrs. Manning. If you miss the call or email from Mrs. Manning, please call the school office to find out which Mass you are scheduled to work.
Fresh & Easy
It’s that time to save your receipts if you shop at Fresh & Easy. Our school will receive $1 for every $20 Fresh & Easy receipt we collect that is dated between Sept. 12 to Dec. 31. Mrs. Ramirez will keep you informed as to when she will mail the final receipts.
In addition to the Fresh & Easy receipt drive, it will be St. Dominic School Night at Fresh & Easy on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m
We need parent and student volunteers to help pack groceries on Sept. 13, and ask shoppers to support our school.
Shakey’s Family Night
Shakey's Family Night was well attended and our earnings for the evening totaled $637.91. Thank you to all those who attended and a special thank you to Jackie Barrena and Annette Manning for helping out with the “free dress pass” distribution!
ITBS Assessment
We will start the ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills) Assessments on Monday, Sept. 17 and testing will end on Thursday, Sept. 27.
Testing begins at 8:10 a.m. Please make sure that your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a nutritious breakfast during testing.
If you are scheduling your child’s doctor and dentist appointments for these weeks, please ask for afternoon appointments.
Make-up testing for absent students will be on Sept. 26 and 27.
