Parish Fiesta
All school families, including the preschoolers, received 2 tickets for the Parish Fiesta. The ticket money is to be turned in to the parish office, across from the school office.

All parents are expected to work 5 hours during the fiesta. Hours not worked during the fiesta will be charged at $20.00 per hour.

Parents are asked to also provide baked goods for the dessert booth. You may earn up to an additional 5 hours for your donation.
Parents may earn a maximum of 10 hours at the parish fiesta.

Year of Faith
Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XIV, has proclaimed a Year of Faith in an effort to nourish and strengthen our belief in God and his Church. From October 11, 2012 to November 24, 2013 we are challenged to participate in prayer, study, outreach, and evangelization as we strive to live out our call to follow Christ in today’s world.

Please take some precious family time to study the enclosed brochure, The Year of Faith.  Since you have wholeheartedly chosen to send your children to a Catholic school, it is important that you keep up with the teachings of our Church.  Remember, parents, that you are your child’s first and most important teacher!  Please help your children become HOLY.  Happy teaching!

Academic Decathlon
Academic Decathlon Logic lunchtime meetings will continue with Mr. Snyder on Monday Oct. 29.  Mrs. Hunt is on campus Tuesday Oct. 30 to arrange an after-school schedule for Super Quiz subjects.  Mr. Snyder and Mrs. Hunt will both be at the Friday after-school meeting from 1:45 to 3:30 p.m. Team candidates need to pay their $25 registration fee by Friday Nov. 2.  If you are interested in a specific subject, look at the Study Guide which can be found at the website http://academicdecathlon.wikispaces.com/Study+Guide .  Books for the Super Quiz need to be purchased ASAP.

School Choir
School choir will hopefully start next week, on Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 pm or before school 7:30-7:55 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Students need to return permission slips before choir admittance. Forms will be given out during music class.

Adopt-A-Family
The annual Adopt-a-Family program is one of those opportunities to bring the Light of Christ and the joy of Christmas to families living on the desolate streets of Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles.

Our Adopt-a-Family Donation Drive starts on Thu. Nov. 1. Students are encouraged to bring in the following items: Canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned tuna, canned chicken, canned stews, canned soups, boxed mac/cheese, tomato sauce/paste, packaged breakfast cereals, crackers, cookies, flour, sugar, rice, beans, pasta, bar soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Halloween Carnival
We thank the parents for their generous donations towards the Halloween Carnival!

All students, including the preschoolers, received a treat bag with candy and games thanks to parent donations.

All profits from the lunch, dessert booths and raffle go to the Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO).
