Living Rosary
In honor of Our Lady of the Rosary we will have our traditional prayer service of the Living Rosary on Monday, October 8 at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall

Teacher Luncheon
The two preschool classrooms and kinder parents honored the faculty and staff, and parish staff with a wonderful Mexican lunch. The lunch was appreciated by all. It was delicious and also allows the school and parish staff an opportunity to form community during the busy work schedule.

We want to thank these parents for their generous donations and the wonderful food.

Center for the Arts
The after school enrichment art programs will be incorporated into our existing daycare program. The class is FREE for the daycare children only!

The after school program is for the weeks of October 15-December 14. Classes are every
WEDNESDAYS, 3:00-4:00 PM. The class is FIRST COME/FIRST SERVE and the CLASS SIZE LIMIT IS 24 STUDENTS.

Please return the registration form into the school office. Registration for after school daycare students ends on Friday, Sept. 28.

If after school daycare students do not sign up and spots are available, registration for other students will open on Monday, Oct. 1 and close on Friday, Oct. 5. Students not in daycare will pay $30 for a 9 week art class.

Safe Kids Walk This Way
We’re inviting you to join us for an International Walk to School Day on October 3, 2012.

St. Dominic School and Safe Kids Los Angeles are partnering with a program sponsored by FedEx to make this pedestrian safety event possible.

The Los Angeles County Fire, Los Angeles Police, and Sheriff Department will be onsite on October 3, 2012 from 8:30-10:30 for the Safe Kids Walk This Way Assembly.

Fieldtrip Forms
All students will receive a fieldtrip slip form to allow the student to participate in the Safe Kids Walk This Way Assembly.

Students will walk on Maywood to Colorado Blvd., down to Eagle Rock Blvd., and finally back to Merton and will then enter into our school playground for the assembly.

Students without signed permission slips will not be allowed to participate in the  walking part of the assembly.

School Logo
St. Dominic School has been working on our visual identity and branding for two years.

Last school year the Taproot Foundation worked pro bono on our visual identity and branding our school.

Taproot researched the neighboring schools (Catholic and public) on their visual identity and compared their visuals to ours. The team
interviewed parents and teachers. The new logo was presented to the marketing team board in July.

Our new tag line is “Building Confident Catholic Leaders through Faith, Community and Education.”

By the beginning of next school year, all St. Dominic students will wear new polos, sweatshirts and P.E. uniforms which display the new logo. We will begin with the process this year.

Fresh & Easy
FRESH & EASY Fundraiser of Sept. 13 -- We want to THANK Denise & Ralph Ramirez for organizing this great event.  There were cheers outside the store as young St. Dominic School students greeted shoppers.  You could feel their enthusiasm. We want to thank the student and parent volunteers who collected receipts and helped bag groceries.  The Marketing Team sold baked goods provided by parents. This is an on-going Fundraiser so any receipts collected between Sept. 12 -- December 31 should be turned into the school office so our school gets the credit.   Keep on shopping!
