Sizzler
Please join us for a fundraiser dinner at Sizzler in Eagle Rock tomorrow, Oct. 17, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Students that attend the Sizzler Night fundraiser may wear FREE dress this coming Friday, Oct. 19.

Benchmark Assessments
We are assessing the students in 2nd-8th grades on some of the Common Core State Standards this week, Oct. 15-17. The students are assessed in language arts and math and the test is a multiple choice format.

These CCSS assessments will occur in October, February and May. The CCSS are some of the standards that students should master for their grade level by the end of the current school year.

Art Class
Professor Annie Mann has joined St. Dominic School to teach art. All grade levels, kinder through 8th, will have one hour of art each week.

Grades 5th, 4th, 2nd, and 6th will have art instruction on Mondays. On Wednesdays, kinder, 1st, 3rd 8th, and 7th will have art.


Preschool and Kindergarten Mass
The preschool and kindergarten Mass is this coming Saturday, Oct. 20, at 5:00 p.m.

Families will gather afterwards in the school lunch area for a potluck dinner.


Parish Fiesta Raffle Tickets
Enclosed you will find our Parish Fiesta Raffle tickets. If you received your set of tickets at Mass on Sunday, please return your envelope to the office. Thank you in advance for your continued support of the Parish.

In today’s envelope you will find the Fiesta Ticket Form. The last day for pre-sale tickets is Thu. Nov. 1.

Picture Day
Bartolo Photography has merged with Life Touch.

School photo order forms will come from Life Touch. You will now able to order online before Picture Day. If you prefer to order by form, the order form will be included in next week’s Family Envelope.

All students, including the preschoolers, will take their school picture on Thu., Nov. 1.
The photographer will begin with preschool at 8:30 a.m.

Students are to wear their complete uniform and their green St. Dominic sweater for picture day.  Students should NOT wear their P.E. uniform.


All Saints Day
Thu., Nov. 1 is a holy day of obligation. We will celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints Mass at 9:00 a.m. Please remember to have your child bring a donation for the collection.

Students are to wear their school uniform. Students should wear their skirts/jumpers or long pants (no shorts).
                                                      
Academic Decathlon
The Academic Decathlon study period begins this Wed., Oct. 17.  The study session is at lunch time in the science room with Mr. Snyder. The next two meetings at lunch are Mon. of Oct. 22nd and Wed., October 24th.
